The Situation
Built for Jen-Col Construction Ltd and designed by ONPA Architects, IMARK was asked to help in the exterior design prior to the architects finalizing the drawings. The customer had a vision of a unique and striking building which IMARK was able to help them achieve through early involvement in the project.
Four different products and seven different colours would be needed to design a building that would stand out and be unique.
The building has large balconies, open clerestories and a striking entrance that invites both customers and employees.
The exterior walls, clad in Alpolic Mica Anodized, have diamond shaped panels that wrap around corners and continue into the interior of the building. This unique wrapping detail allows the panels to make the transition from the exterior to the interior back sloping feature walls seamless.
IMARK’s Approach
With the customers goal in mind IMARK focused on details that would make this a unique building. Such details included ACM panels with accent colours built right into the panels, and complex bends in the panel where the panel itself would wrapped around the corner of the building. These great fabrication achievements were to the credit of IMARK’s in house designers and ACM panel fabrication team. All panels were produced in IMARK’s fabrication facility and installed by IMARK’s installation crews. As demonstrated in the outcome of this project, careful attention to detail can elevate a project to the next level.
